Today’s five minute Friday card uses a bunch of retiring products. Both of the stamp sets, the pearls, and the pattern paper are all retiring at the end of May.
This card has some really easy stamping since all of the flowers are one single stamp. Watercoloring is a perfect technique for a five minute Friday card. Watercoloring doesn’t have to be perfect and I find I get better results when I work quickly, rather than spending a lengthy amount of time working on it.
I watercolored the flowers and stems using my aqua painter and reinkers. To get the two-toned look on the petals, I colored the entire petal in Crushed Curry and then went back over it with a little bit of Pumpkin Pie. In some areas, it was a little too orange, so I just went back over it with a little more Crushed Curry. Again, it’s not supposed to be perfectly even, just like in real life. Mother’s Day is going to be here before you know it. Now is the perfect time to start working on those cards for the mothers in your life. This would be a good card to replicate if you’re short on time. Or if you’re always later mailing it than you’d planned. Yep, I’m definitely one of those that constantly tells myself to get it to the Post Office plenty early…and then I just can’t quite seem to make it there until two days before. Here’s hoping this card can make it in the mail in the next week or so.
Most products on the Retirement List are available only while supplies last. There are a number of products that are discounted too. If you see something you want, do not wait to purchase it. Some of these items are already selling out. Stamp sets will continue to be produced until the third week in May. After that date, they will be while supplies last as well. If you click on the Order Online button on the upper right-hand corner, it will take you to my online store so you can place your order immediately.
