Seriously, my studio is in need of a major cleaning. I’m knee deep in gift card holders the last couple days. I’m making a ton for the upcoming Holiday Boutique that my Downline and I will be at. Just check out this stack. I’ve got to get these assembled asap so I can move on to more projects.
These gift cards turned out so cute! I did use our retired stamp set Perfect Blend. This is one stamp set that I will never part with. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve used this coffee cup and I’m sure this won’t be the last. I did hand cut the cup, the sleeve, and the tree.
I’m hoping these will be popular at the Boutique because I made close to 100 of them. If not, guess what all my friends are getting for Christmas. And maybe Christmas next year too. 🙂
This weekend, I’m working at another Just Crop Retreat and doing a couple make & takes. If you’re local to SoCal and you want to attend a fun crafty weekend, Rachel does an excellent job. She offers two different retreats – the full themed retreat with prizes and games and a no frills retreat as well.
I took my fancy coffee themed gift card holder and changed it up to a quick Santa gift card holder. This will be one of the make & takes for Saturday at the retreat. Realistically, it takes slightly longer than five minutes to make because I colored in the Santa. If I’d picked one of the other images, like the gingerbread man, this could be made in about five minutes,
Here is the pattern for my gift card holders. The dashed lines are score lines and the straight lines are cut lines. You’ll want to fold in the 1/4″ flap on either side and put your adhesive there. I used my Tear & Tape to hold it closed. Then you fold it in half adhering the front to the back. I did find that I needed something wrapped around the gift card holder to hold it closed. I used some pattern paper and twine. Ribbon would also work.
If you’re here in Orange County the weekend of 10/21-22, you should come by the Holiday Boutique. We’ll be at El Toro High School from 4-9 pm on Friday and 9-4 pm on Saturday. There are quite a few booths and lots of good things for sale.
Have you seen the special for October? This is the perfect time to stock up on your favorite pattern papers.
