Now back to today’s project…
Easter is only 21 days from today. It’s crazy how fast this year is flying by! Seems like I just packed up the Holiday decorations not too long ago.
For Easter, I usually make little treats for everyone that comes to Easter brunch. Every year, I make sure to do something different. Usually, I’m stamping bunnies and then hand cutting them out. This time I’m going to use the giant Egg in the Hello Easter stamp set in the Occasions Catalog. This egg is big – about 3.5″ tall, which means I really don’t have to add a lot of stuff to the tag. To get the banner edges on the “Happy Easter” tag, I used the new Tailored Tag punch. It is so easy to do it this way. I just inserted the end of the banner into the edge of the punch and you get a that look.
I stamped the egg in Daffodil Delight and the flowers are in Berry Burst. The Happy Easter is stamped in Night of Navy on the matching yellow card stock. I used our 2×8″ cello bag as my treat holder. These bags are a great deal at 50 bags for $3.00. The Navy and silver striped paper behind the egg is the new Springtime Foils paper that is FREE with a qualifying purchase of $50 (pre-tax and shipping). The Springtime Foil paper is actually white with Silver stripes. I used my sponge brayer to color the entire tag with Night of Navy ink. The brayer allows you to add an even coating of ink to the entire tag.
To add the tag to the bag, I punched a hole in the top and then tied the gold ribbon around the bag. Then I tied the ribbon into a bow. That’s one great thing about this gold ribbon – it allows you to tie a nice bow that lays flat. Sometimes my bows turn out kind of wonky and then I end up redoing it into a knot instead.
I’m still working on Easter ideas so I’m sure I’ll have a few more for you in the next week or so. Keep checking back to see what else I have up my sleeve.
