I started working on a couple Easter projects last week using the Basket Bunch Bundle. I love that the coordinating die set cuts out just about every image in this stamp set. This is such a time-saver. No more fussy cutting all those little details to go in your basket.
Today’s project is using the dies to make a 3-D Easter basket.
If you’ve seen the basket image in the catalog, you’ll know how small these baskets are. This finished basket is about 2.5″ tall by 1.75″ across and .75″ deep. These are tiny. And oh so cute!
To make this project, you’ll want to die cut two baskets and two handles, one grass piece, one bunny, one flower, and one chick. The center piece is 1.25″ wide by 3.25″ long. You’ll score .25″ in on each of the long sides. Then score 1 1/8th” in from each end. Snip where the the two score lines meet and this is where the basket folds up on each side.
Using your fine-tip glue, adhere the handles to the inside of each basket piece. Then adhere the center portion piece to each basket. Set aside to dry. I did have to use a small weight to hold the pieces in place while the glue was drying. Once the basket was ready to go, I trimmed the grass to fit inside and glued it to the inside of the basket. The daffodil is glued to the grass. And the chick and bunny are glued to the front of the basket. You’ll notice my chick doesn’t have any legs. I could come up with a good way to add them so I decided my chick is actually sitting next to the bunny and not standing. The bunny’s ears, tail, and bow are colored in using markers.
Is there anything cuter than this little bunny basket? Yep! it’s a whole bunch of these little baskets.
These tiny baskets are actually my swap for this month’s Downline meeting this week. I’m pretty sure the ladies will really like these. They are filled with candy. And by filled, I mean three very small pieces of candy.
