Winter is coming… I know other parts of the Country are already buried under lots of snow, but here in SoCal, that means the temperature drops below 65′ and we’ll get a few days of rain. It’s expensive to live in Southern California, but that comes with the promise that the only snow we’ll see is on the tv. That doesn’t mean that I don’t enjoy a beautiful snowy winter scene and I couldn’t resist the stamp set Snow Front.
Snow Front is one of the “builder” stamp sets. Every piece is separate and you can build your snowy scene however you like. If you want mountains, just add them. Do you want a herd of deer? Keep stamping them. Do you want a snowman in the middle of the forest? Sure why not! Trees? Of course.
I found the best success with this stamp set when I started at the top of my tag and worked my way down. So, I’m starting with the things that are the farthest away first and then working my way forward. I also used different shades in similar colors – darker for the items in the foreground. The brown deer are darker than the cabin and the cabin is darker than the mountains in the background. Since I’ve stamped my scene all the way to the bottom of the tag, I’d probably put the “to” and “from” on the back side.
Here is a slightly different look for the tag. It’s tied around the outside of the bag and then the two ribbon ends meet at the center of the tag. I pulled both ribbon ends through the center hole and then tied it into a bow to attach the tag. The ribbon is held in place on the back with a bit of our tear & tape. As Winter approaches, what are you most looking forward to? Lots of snow? A chance to build a snowman? Seeing animals in a wintery forest? I’d love to hear what your winter looks like. Comment below with how many feet of snow you think you’ll get this year.
